All about us

Vectis Academy is an endurance sports team based on the Isle of Wight, supporting athletes across running, cycling, multisport, and ultra-endurance disciplines.

Our team includes athletes racing locally, nationally, and internationally, across events ranging from short-course racing to ultra-distance challenges. From 500m to 500km, we believe the journey matters just as much as the result. Effort, consistency, and progress sit at the heart of everything we do.

Vectis Academy is built on the idea that performance isn’t defined solely by times or podiums. We support athletes who want to improve, who value long-term development, and who understand that showing up — week after week — is what really drives progress. Every commitment counts, every milestone matters, and every athlete is recognised.

We welcome new members who want to train with us and represent the team, regardless of background, experience, ability, or ambition. Some of our athletes work with independent performance coaches aligned with the team, while others bring their own coaching support. What unites everyone is a shared mindset: train with purpose, race with intent, and support each other along the way.

Membership

Built on Strong Foundations

Vectis Academy was established by Simon and Darren, whose coached athletes formed the original core of the team. Their vision created more than a training group — it built a culture centred on shared effort, accountability, and genuine support.

As both have grown and rebranded their coaching businesses, Vectis Academy has grown with them — evolving into a club that now stands confidently in its own right, while still rooted in the principles they set in motion.

Their leadership shaped the past. Their ongoing involvement continues to influence the future. And the team they helped build now carries that legacy forward with every session and every start line.
